As a funds editor at Morningstar, I use my editing skills to make complex financial information clear, engaging, and understandable.

Responsible for editing and production of content from Morningstar's mutual fund analysts (hundreds of pieces per year).

Monitor and meet deadlines for timely web content.

Produce tables and charts to accompany content.

Skills required include editing, copy editing, and collaboration with analysts.

Maintain QA and corporate standards for all published materials.

Implement different English-language standards for analysts using British or U.S. English.

Provide advice on questions about grammar and style.

Edit and produce other documents as needed.

Production Editor, Equity Research

Copyediting and production of content of various sizes, from a few paragraphs to 50 pages.

Creating and formatting graphics to Morningstar's style standards.

For six months in 2013, I served as a co-manager of day-to-day operations in the ICS group. Duties included handling mid-year reviews, representing the group's position to analysts, and maintaining quality production during a management transition.

Formatted and edited 400+ analyst reports per year.

Report length varied from 2 to 200-plus pages.

Coordinated production of reports between analyst teams, Editorial, and the Graphics department.

Managed production of a 200-pg quarterly report on the homebuilding industry, including resolution of production issues between the company’s New York and Chicago offices. Answered questions about grammar and style as needed.

Supplemented my training with classes in writing and InDesign.
